We spent a few months collecting the recipes for our contest and then the top three were chosen - A Chocolate Chili Brownie with Banana Chai Butter Cream, Chocolate Bacon Baklava, & the Oaxacan Chocolate Pear Tart. Once they selections were made and our judging panel secure we were ready for the showdown!
The contestants all arrived at the hotel with their ingredients in tow and ready to bake. They used the main kitchen in the hotel to recreate their recipes and then the live judging took place in the Compass Arizona Grill.
Our judges - Dominic Vaccaro - Executive Chef at Hyatt Regency Phoenix, Brady Breese owner of Urban Cookies/OllieCake, Neil & Ella Levinson of Classic Cakes and Confections, Laura Hill of Desert Botanical Garden, and Lindsey Fosse of Yelp were all ready to dive into the dessert!
