Summer is right around the corner! Here are a few ideas for a day trip or weekend getaway to great spots in our own state!
SLIDE ROCK: Upstream from the main area are some great pools/cliff jumping spots to hit up and avoid the crowds. Pack a lunch and head down one of the steep trails off Highway 89A to find a tranquil picnic spot in the shade. Cave Springs is just up the road and perfect for camping if you want to pitch a tent and stay the weekend.
LOWELL OBSERVATORY: Hit up Beaver Street Brewery for a great lunch in downtown Flagstaff and then head one mile away to the Lowell Observatory and take the Mars and Pluto tours.
BOYCE THOMPSON ARBORETUM: Grab a cup of coffee at the Triple C Coffee Shop and then head over for an afternoon at the Arboretum in Superior. Along the 1.5 mile trail you will see close to 3,000 different desert plants.
TOMBSTONE & BISBEE: Visit the Wild West and Copper Mining towns of Arizona. While you are there you won't go hungry if you check out Jimmy's Hot Dog Company, Old Bisbee Brewing Company, and Tombstone Saraparilla.
SEDONA WINERY: We all know and love the beauty of Sedona, but have you been to out to the Javeline Leap or Echo Canyon Wineries? Plan a day trip or hit them up with you head to Slide Rock.
